Hi Heath,

I searched and ordered a guest house on the Dresden Tourism homepage:

http://www.dresden.de/index.html?node=12242

It is better to stay at the guest house close to the hospital (I couldn't get a room there because they were all occupied). You should ask the hospital how to get there.

By the way, the price is 1000 euro for both eyes with the pre-examination included. You only pay 200 euro for the pre-examination if you don't want to do the treatment!!

Best regards, Jan

Heath, the best of luck to you... make sure you plan things well, like the guys have said, get organized, your vision will be disrupted and your in another country and alone ( I would have liked someone to come with you to give you a hand)...

I can understand your reasoning, in that, to just "grit your teeth" and get through it... everyone in life has a situation like that in their life... but really take care of yourself and put things where you can get them quickly for after the crosslinking...

P.S A very good friend of mine told me that most people in Germany can speak english... so you should be ok in that department...

Heath,

I have been in Dresden 3 weeks ago, they all speak good English in the clinic, and you will not have any issues managing in English.

I suggest using the guest house near the clinic, and scheduling the same time as the OP, otherwise you will not have available rooms.

if you need any info/contact from Dresden, let me know and i will give you the contacts i have.

I have a small hotel on the same street of the clinic (half a mile from it), but it costs about 55 euro a night.

Good Luck

Rani

Heath,

I’m going to do the procedure in Dresden on Nov. 16th.

Guest houses:

The phone number of the guesthouse is the 0049 351 458 2996, at this number you can speak with Mrs. Bräuer.

Another guesthouse is the Clara – Zetkin – Heim and the phone number is the 0049 351 445 17 01, you can speak about this number with Mrs. Leibengel.

a hotel near the clinic, is Artushof and the phone number is 0049 351 44 59 10.

If all didn’t work for you call/e-mail Sandra Keller: 0049-351 458 3196, Sandra.Keller(at)uniklinikum-dresden.de

She will help with the guest house.

Rani
