Again thanks. While I had a great 8 hours of real comfort with RGPs today, inconsistency is the mainstay. Indeed I will contact Moran as I do not believe there is anyone, even in NYC except for one doc. I could be very wrong about that-so yes, a call is in order. (Not to be a real pessimist here, but health care in the NorthEast is taking a real dive. I've worked in the field since a youngster in l969!) By the way I TOO bought myself a sports car- "sorta"- and drove my husband to the ballet tonight. Does a Subaru "Sport" count???? Adios and thanks.

Just got back from another check-up, two more sutures were removed in the right eye. Two years post implant, vision 20/20 left eye and 20/25 in the right with a marginal amount of ghosting in the right, left eye is very crisp. Still no reading glasses needed yet

Fabulous!! ...and a really heart warming thing to hear Micheal.

Just so that those new can see the accomplishment Micheal... what was your vision (uncorrected) like pre-lens implants?

And also as an ex-contact lens wearer, what does it feel like to not having to waer your contacts? I would imagine it feels like the "ball and chain" has been cut off!! ...the hassel gone!! ...No more of those tempermental contact lens days ...yeppy!!!

Every good wish to you!

 Thanks Sajeev,

Pre-lens my vision was 20/400 roughly in both eyes which is counting fingers at 3 feet. od 13 diopters of sphere and 4.75 astigmatism os 11 diopters of sphere 3.75 astigmatism. Post-implant was od 1.25 diopters sphere and 4.25 diopters astigmatism OS .75 diopters sphere and 3.25 of astigmatism. Uncorrected I'm about 20/60 to 20/80. I can watch TV, computer, read and so on.

Getting rid of contacts is like being born again I haven't worn them since 2002 and it's been heaven on earth for me. It totally changes your life in every aspect, I can work in the dust all day, wake up in the morning and have vision, stay out all night without the pain of dry eyes and on and on. I had a horrible lens experience the last couple years I wore them so it was having bad teeth pulled out of my eyes. Thank God their gone!

Thanks Mike for you post, I know Yarsky expressed some interested in a lens implant for his worst eye, he is on vacation at the moment and on his return i'm sure these posts will be a help to him.
