No i didnt i made the mistake of assuming that it 'just happened' because the was not receiving the correct treatment for the right eye he has an apointment monday morning with the professor and i shall ask.

nothing is showing up on the 2 lots of swabs they have taken during the past month. so they are unsure what they are treating i believe

do you think i should be asking anything else that you can think of to move this forward thank you

Ask them if at the same time as treating the infectiion, if taking a swab to see what type of infection it is etc is ACTUALLY possible as doing both may cause the tests done on the infection to come back with results that maybe can't be relied upon as the swab sample tested will have the eye drops used to kill the infection in it as well.

If you went to an experienced CXL Dr they would have known how to treat the infection more effictively, as they would have had the experience and the know-how from the very begining from the close information sharing they have with other Drs that they know, who are equally experienced as them due to using CXL as a treatment for the longest time.

Maybe there was taking precausions just in case it was an infection. Swelling is a normal in the healing, but may be it was more than they expected (probably their lack of experience played into this). Have you tried to call David Jory ? its probably best to call him as its easier to talk on the intergatices by way of a phone call.

I hope your sons eyes healing settles down soon.

nothing has shown up on all eye swabs and they have ceased treating the left eye said it had not been infected cause nothing showed up it was just inflammation.

however they are now treating the right eye with an steroid pred forte along with the antibiotic.

i asked how it has spread to left eye and was told it hadnt they did not believe it was infected as nothing had shown up

i asked why nothing was showing in the right eye considering they knew it was infected adn i was told that the bacteria is not 100% sensitive to bacteria and it may have been so minimal. this confuses me as they have been treating it for over 4 months with 1 month break for right eye they have now stopped with the zovirax
