Hello guys!

Quintrix: you are right! The decision is real balanced. And Dr. Kohlhaas is A Doctor, with capital D. I conditioned all my future on the x_linking event this month. But there is no urgence...

Hari: yes, I'll wait now.

Hey Yarski, remeber that during the first five months after the operation I couldnt correct my eyes with glassess... only in the beginning of the sixth month I found that glassess actually correct my vision. Even if it happens that glassess will not work in you case, you will have the option to use lens, the cornea will be stronger and flatter i.e you will fit lens easier... so we all wait to hear from you soon... about the dr. K decision, I suppose he knows best...

Cheers,

Valeri

Hi guys,

I believe what I am about to say concerns my previous decision.

My left eye (not treated) starts worsenning. It's about a week now that I'm seeing the second image with it very clearly. Before it was not at all pronounced. Now when I look at a flying bird i clearly see her "ghost" flying near her. I suppose it's astigmatism that starts to worsen. I mean, the KC continues to work on my left eye. Before this effect was only temporary, a question of a day,  of a fatigue, of a sleepless night...But now it is there since last week or a bit more..

It's so strange a feeling I think a lot of you understand that: you know , you feel, you actually see it is worsenning and you do not know how to stop it, how to control it....Therefore I think I should have insisted three weeks ago... Well, anyway I wait impatiently for the December event in Zurich. I wish the broadcasting could be available

PS. A joke: having in mind that I am an eagle I should see the "ghosts" of running rabbits ruther than of the flying birds...

Yarsky mate, I think to do something there must be a good reason, may be this is the reason you need.

For me, i find that the seasons changing overall does effect the way i see, better in the summer worst in the winter.

When i went on holiday to the south coast of india, i did not even wear my glasses, as i did not need them, my vision was that good. Its very cloudy here (in london and i guess in paris too) during the autum and winter, light shatters more due to weather fronts (high pressure, low pressure ect). Also nearer to the equator the light from the sun hits the earth at 90 degrees (so comes staight dowm not causing shadows) and with out no shatter as there is no clouds! There was a big difference in vision between the the two countries.

Another thing when your looking for any signs of progression, you do check more in detail when your really thinking about it, to do a treatment may be, i feel may be progression does not happen that quickly in a week? and its a double image? I think its due to winter lighting levels... i hope so! on the other hand its given you the reason that you wanted and so its an easier decision?

I know what you mean, i was worried that  i was seeing double faint ghosting, then for months i did not even notice it, and then i notice it, and now i don't... its strange, i think these slight things can vary as our corneas move around but are not progressing, i find when my eyes are dry due to having a fan on during the night when its just too hot to sleep in summer, dries my eyes out which gives blurrier vision, i have not used the fan at night times for a long time now (as its winter) and i found my vision go's back to what it used to be pre-fan!

So i think there is a lot in the mix for seeing good for us.

Great observations and thoughts, thanks for sharing.

And keep in mind, that we (kcers) see different according to the level of the light available. When it is too bright, our pupil reduces the size and (depending of the corena) it may happen that the lights passess just through the cone hence distorting it more than when the pupil is dilated and the light passess through larger portion of the cornea.  Sure this can differ from eye to eye but one should keep it in mind.

Yarsky, friend, you know one cannot give you advice to do or not to do crosllinking. But you know, if I were in your shoes (and I am!) I would do both eyes simultaneously ... as I in fact did ...

All I can say is that I echo what the other guys have already said... I know my experience is diffrent than yours but when I decided to have mini ark I had no hesitation in having both eyes done at the same time. The decision I made after a year of research to actually trust in the process behind mini ark was enough for me to commit to it totally. To me it wasnt a test to see how one eye endured before deciding on the other... it was a package deal :)
But we are all diffrent and I do not know the process of crosslinking as well as you... Someone with Kc once told me jokingly that his progression wasnt that bad as he got two Pamela Andersons for the price of one :). I guess we all deal with KC diffrently :)
All the best mate,

Hari

Guys, thanks!
two Pamelas! yea I think I can afford that

I think one of the difficulties is a question of the support. I, honestly, do not have a permanent support. And I can not have long vacations. This is the only problem I think.

AND You simply can not do both eyes if you have not got somebody to help you, because if you do both you can not see anything during a couple of days. And first time I had none with me during first three days. So I had no choice. Second time - I do not know...I was not sure. If I was a boy living with parents or a had a wife - it could be easier. But for a while to manage this treatment demands a lot of preparation. I have to assure my work function to get paied as well.

The trust however is very important...

Hello guys!
the new year has started for me with a fast progression of KC, as I understand it, in my good eye. It's shocking! I'll go to measure it on tuesday. My goodness, people, how fast it can be: one month and you are done!!!! It is not the weather or atmospheric conditions. Well I doubt it for I don't understand how weather influence the KC?????
Last two weaks I was much less mobile (sport) than usually... Probably it is this?

Why did not I do it in November....
