hi all, just stumbled along this post.I know for a fact the epithilium does not get thinner,it regrows when healing post op.i believe it is ten microns thick(if i remember correctly)been a while..lol

my advice is that if you are going to go through with the stress of surgery, spend the money, then go with the surgery that we know is 100 percent. Also i do not believe dr.wachler is doing epi off because it is not approved in the us(again, dont take my word)...it is a mentall stress going with the surgery and removing the epithelium is such a minor thing when you compare it to everything you are going through already.

hope this helps....good luck to all,,,we have hope and do not listen to docs that try and oversell,or dont believe in treatment,,they are your eyes!!!!! we are living with this disease and its effects, thats why this forum is here, to hear the other side and real truths of the ones who know best,,the fellow sufferes. crooslinking STOPS progresson in almost 100 PERCENT of progressive keratoconus,,,,my eyes disintegraded in only four months,,post op they have regressed and actually are getting thinner.
