Hi I think most of the people undergoing CXL/C3R gets a change of prescription, personally my cylinder power went down from around -6 to -4,5 and the cone got a bit flatter, so i got to buy a flatter and larger RGP lens.

For me it also gave slight improvement in BCVA with the RGP and little bit better comfort, but no miracle for the vision, however it is nice to know that eye wont progress further.

I had Visian Icl and C3R done in both eyes on the same day.  I am almost 3 months post op and my vision is not as good as I thought it would be.  The doctor does not think my prescription has changed but after C3R just by looking at my topographies it looks like my corneas have changed.  I am not exactly sure how to read a topo but looks like some change.  Has anybody else had this problem?  I have heard of some very good results from these procedures.

Thank you

Was this Epi on C3r ? in any case it seems you Dr was trying to save time for him/her self ! - who are they ? S/he should have done it in stages, as its a moving target otherwise, but things like post Op haze does take time to disappear and vary in duration when it will, but six months is a rough finishing line for most people, for some the refraction settles even past one year.

Yes it was Epi on C3R.  I have talked with 2 other surgeons about my issue and they both believe that i was over corrected.  They both suggested PRK in both eyes to try and normalize the remiaing astigmatism.  they also said witht this there is a possible risk of needing a cornea transplant down the road.   they both alos seem to think that a transplat is very good sucess rate for keratoconus patients.  Any thoughts?

A transplant is the very last option, and who was it who did your surgery ? what do they say about what they did ? and what to do now ? you should give it more time for your cornea to settle at least. Anyway, there are more doubts with the Epi on (the way one Dr does it over there) than the orginal way. Its putting profit before patients.

The doctors name was Dr. Boxer Wachler in Beverly Hills.   He feels he has the correct prescription for both ICL’s and there is no reason to replace them with another prescription.   My vision inside has a weird  fogginess or blurriness that I do not get outside.  Not sure what it is but it is a noticeable difference.  2 out of the 3 doctors I have talked with are suggesting I do PRK to remove some astigmatism but Dr. Boxer Wachler is suggesting I reposition the intact that I have in my right eye.   Very hard to make a decision with so many different opinions out there.

Hi bbrunsell. You are the one who is going to decide about your eyes, but if I were you, I would probably wait and see whether things get better, it is too soon to do anything imho. You should trust your doctor as long as he is able to explain what's right or wrong. I remember myself trying to figure out why I had a feeling of haze on my left eye even after a year. Finally I found out that it was just because my right eye was able to see better uncorrected, so I thought it was a haze while it wasn't.
Every good wish,
Lars
