My KC Story

I have KC for years. I went to Dr to Dr to Dr and they could not figure out what was wrong with my eye. I finally came to the point that I was gonna be fully blind in my left eye. I was moreless there as is.
I ended up going to Walmart Eye Center to get new glasses and low and behold she told me what I had I then went back to one of the Drs I seen before to try to figure out what was wrong. Well I went to them for a few months and finally got sick of being pushed around and went to a New Dr Dr Vidier he is WONDERFUL.
I then almost 3 years in Sept I had a Wedge Resection. Not the best choice now. It went well the recovery was awful. A couple months ago they fited me for Hard contacts I am in them now it has done wonders for my right eye which I have KC in also but my left eye is still bad. So now we are looking to have a Transplant I am not happy at all with having another surgery in that eye and to go through the recovery again. I will know more as of June 8th.

Has anyone else had a Wedge Resection done?

I just pray this will be my last surgery I will have to have in my left eye and I don't reject it.

I hope you have managed to salvage your vision. Wedge Resection has its place in the treatment of reducing astigmatism although the results can vary from patient to patient and its dependant on with how much correction is required. Best of Luck.
