Hi Dominic,

did I understand it right, you got a PRK and crosslinking on one eye by Dr. K. in Greece and now after 2,5 years you will do a further PRK again? Are you really sure? What did your doctor say? isn´t it a risk? Are you not content with your vision on that eye? Or do you just want to get the maximum.

I will do this treatment on my right eye probably this month in Dublin Wellington Eye Clinic, I would be happy if I get 80-90% avision acuity on that eye.

By the way it is good to hear that apparently the thickness of the cornea after CXL really increases again to basis values.

What´s about your other eye?

Andi

the reason i am getting more treatment is although the corrected vision is 20/20 there is so much ghosting in the right eye due to the shape of the cornea at the pupil center,an rgp literraly sits and rocks towards my ear. 20/20 with soft lenses but much upwards ghosting. the left eye has had prk and c3r as well, and is almost 500 microns thick post op.

Hello Syed,

I could not make out the numbers (its hard to see the figures) but it looks like your over the 400 microns in both eyes, but they can thicken the cornea if need be for the treatment to take place anyway.

Remember Crosslinking is not used to improve vision (even if some get lucky!), its used so you do not lose more vision, however there is a number of corrective treatments that can be used with crosslinking to increase vision. Check them out too also.

But if you wear contact lenses happily, then crosslinking would be enough if there is progression (as you say is occuring from your side of the cornea!).

I hope you well

Wayne

Thanks, Wayne.

In my town only one eye specialist offering Epi-off C3R , for correction of vision he might be use laser. No INTACs or ICL lens treatment available. I am reluctant on laser treatment may be it will thin cornea more

Pls guide I am thinking that first I should go for C3R for stabling the cornea then if needed for correction currently I wearing glasses …

what your advice

My advice is do your research until your happy to proceed, with also seeking at least a 2nd medical opinion to be able to gauge more.

Wayne

c3r can be done up to 300 microns thick as they can thicken them to 400. if you are at least 400 you can have the sequential prk and crosslinking done to normalize your corneas. I believe it is because the corneas  swell past 400 even after the 50 micron ablation, due to the prk. If money is a big problem for you i know a clinic here in toronto that does the sequntial t-cat guided prk and c3r for 1000 cad per eye. Hope this helps.
