Just wanted to share my research.

There is a directory in http://www.intacsforkeratoconus.com/main/kcloc.html of doctors who do Intacs (but Keratoconus is not their specialty in most cases).

Here are some doctors who seem to have the most experience with this condition.

*Stephen Turner M.D. in the San Francisco Bay Area
http://www.helpkeratoconus.com/

*Brian Boxer Walcher M.D. in Los Angeles
http://www.boxerwachler.com/

"After FDA approval in 1999, Dr. Boxer Wachler was the first in the United States to publish the use of Intacs for treating a corneal degenerative condition called keratoconus. Since then, Intacs has dramatically increased in use for this condition."

"The FDA adopted Dr. Boxer Wachler's procedure guidelines for the approved surgical technique which is the basis for instructional courses used to train other surgeons. "

"Dr. Boxer Wachler is credited as the first doctor in North America to use C3-RŪ treatments for keratoconus as well as being the first doctor in the world to combine this treatment with Intacs."

*Yaron S. Rabinowitz M.D. in Los Angeles
http://corneageneticeyeinstitute.com

"Yaron S. Rabinowitz M.D. is a corneal surgeon and world renowned authority in the treatment and diagnosis of keratoconus. He has published more articles on the diagnosis and treatment of keratoconus than any other practicing eye surgeon in the world. He is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at U.C.L.A. School of Medicine and the Director of Eye Research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His research on the early detection and genetics of keratoconus has received funding from the National Eye Institutes of Health and for the past 15 years."

"He has been a recipient of multiple awards to acknowledge his contributions to keratoconus research"

"His research has provided new insights into the understanding and treatment of keratoconus. Among the insights provided into the understanding of keratoconus are:
...
Most recently published the first article which demonstrates that the femtosecond laser is accurate and preferable for creating channels to insert INTACS a novel new treatment for patients with keratoconus."
