Eye damage and RGPs..wat after c3-r?

I am StaNz from india and will go for the c3-r with in ten days from now. I am wearing the RGPs since last one year. I was not comfortable wearing the lens in my right eye as when i used it for extensive periods say 12 hours or so my eye usd to get red ,swell and pain a lot....so wenever such swelling took place i used to avoid using it the next day and then agan continue the day after....Now first of all i wanna knw that these symptoms of my eyes[after using lenses for extensive periods] are in any way called ' scarring ' or due to scarring or what? Secondly after the c3-r getting done on my eyes should i still continue using it[RGPs]...as i came to know that scarring[if it is scarring] causes damage to the crosslinking process that takes place after the treatment?
should i think of going for the k-softs...after c3-r....?

Regards
StaNz

Stanz welcome,

If you going for the crosslinking treatment you may want to wait to get new lenses, because once the recover is over (fully mostly by six months) you may need a new fitting contact lens, because you cornea may change to becoming less iregular and more regular, which would mean a better fitting lens making your current lens not adviceable to be used, as the fit of contact lenses is very important indeed. There are many resons why you may be having trouble with your current contact lens, you will need to get a second or third opinion on this from a contact lens experianced fitter who uses all the options available in contact lens design, as much as it can be done.

Best wishes to you
