There's a new type of IOL on the horizon--its refractive power is adjustable once in the eye and should allow for customized/wavefront corrections.
I think this could be an exciting option for KC/ectasia patients--both in avoiding contact lens intolerance as well as the annoyance of frequent re-fittings, and hopefully for locking in a good prescription following stabilization, whether natural or via C3-R.
I'm going to inquire more at my next ophtho visit, with an MD who's on their medical advisory board
This would be as leap forward if and when it comes on the market as it will not require entering/opening theeye for adjustments to the prescription ashe eye ages or otherwise.
