A modest outcome however it might be enough (a small victory) to take the "edge" of things and get select patients back to more comfortable viewing with glasses. Nothing is done infront off, or behind the eyes view and sight, which is sometrthing of a plus.More detail can be seen on the below video:[vi...

The following text is taken from a powerpoint presentation given by Prof. Massimo Lombardi at the 2008 Dresden Cross-linking conference. It points to his use of a variation of crosslinking in conjunction with mini ASRK: MASSIMO LOMBARDI INTRODUCING: Mini A.S.R.K. + S.A.D.C.L. “Alternative su...

Hi Everyone,
For those who don't know my name is Hari Navarro and a few months ago I travelled to Rome and underwent the mini ark operation to treat my six year old Keratoconus.
My decision to visit Prof. Massimo Lombardi and to eventually have him operate on me came at the end of a long journey. I had n...
Hi,
I hope some of you can help me with the following questions:
(1) If miniARK is such a success for such a long period how come the inventor has not written a single scientific article to be published in any peer viewed or non-peer viewed medical journal? Why is there no complete da...
Note this is not in the relation to KC, but its good that they are thinking of the "mini" aspect.
"There is a school of thought in the USA that newer types of RK with much shorter incisions such as Mini and/or Midi RK do not suffer from the serious structural weakening of earlier forms of RK operations. T...
Hi everyone, Just a quick note to let you know that the keratoconus international site is offline at the moment. This is due to the fact that our webhost has disappeared and left us unable to retrieve our data :( . I have been looking in to this, as in many ways it shows something which Prof Lombadri has been tell's us about with wound healing and new stroma growing after incisional surgery (cheak the picture out), also, please note about the epithelium, which I wrote about before in its ability to plug/mas...
Does Prof. Lombardi believe that a virus or bacteria causes KC? Assuming this is true, has the Professor actually isolated and identified the virus/bacteria in KC patients? If not, how can he reasonably promote his medical theory without clinical evidence? Doesn't this lack of scientific rigour...
Just a quick note for those that are interested. Prof. Lombardi's site has recently been updated. It now has information in English/ German and of course Italian.

Hello all!
Well, I've done it. As some of you have read on the Yahoo forum, I went to Rome last month and got mini-ARK. I am just starting on the road that so many of you have travelled already. I hope you don't mind if I am full of questions. As my eyes heal and I come to grips with...
The best outcomes of miniark is when KC stages are early, I or II. Which I perfectly understand. The corneal tissue has enough keratocytes that are healthy enough to react as wanted to produced a healthy corneal wound healing with new scar collagen. Later stages, III or IV, corneal wound healing will...
Hi,
I realise that mini ARK is considered an absolute no go by some in the medical establishment. From the comments that I saw on other sites it seemed to be condemned as a very dangerous procedure, but with no actual reasons given. What I fail to understand is exactly what the perceived prob...
