This video is about a procedure called 'Minimally Invasive Lamellar Keratoplasty' (MILK), also known simply as a 'Lamellar Inlay.' It is carried out by creating a femtosecond laser-assisted corneal pocket.
It is estimated that the invasiveness of the procedure is only 1/10 compared to that of a traditional Lamellar Keratoplasty procedure. Furthermore, it only takes on average 3 minutes to preform.
This is a promising procedure that will revolutionise the treatment of Keratoconus in cases where it will likely yield the best results and at the same time be the least invasive option.
